Our Verdict
The Hyperlite Mountain Gear Unbound 55 Rucksack in Black DCH150 is an ultralight pack with a larger capacity, ideal for long-distance hikers or thru-hikers needing extra room for gear or supplies. Weighing 957g (medium), the Black DCH150 version utilises a 150-denier fabric, offering enhanced durability compared to the DCH50 variant. This makes it well-suited for rugged terrain and more demanding conditions where abrasion resistance is key.
The 55-litre capacity provides plenty of storage for multi-day trips, and the dual-entry stretch mesh front pocket offers quick access to frequently used items, such as snacks or a rain jacket, without needing to access the main compartment. The bottom stash pocket is fantastic for accessing items like hats, gloves, snacks or even rubbish, keeping everything organised and easily accessible.
