Trekking and backpacking boot with a look and technology derived from the Trango family. Made from recycled components (laces and Ortholite® Hybrid footbed) and without the use of animal-derived materials, it is designed for off-road trails, woodland walks and hikes with a full pack. The upper is water-repellent and abrasion-resistant with a wrap-around Comfort Collar that prevents stones or mud from entering. The presence of the GORE-TEX Performance Comfort membrane guarantees breathability and waterproofing, the 3D Flex joint applied to the ankle provides support and allows maximum control when leaning on uneven terrain. The Vibram® sole with Climbing Zone at the toe allows use on ferrata routes. Trango look, Vibram® sole and La Sportiva technology for comfort, protection and safety in the mountains.
Our Verdict
This is a strong serious boot, though not compatible with crampons, the solid well-built sole should be familiar to any alpinist. Definitely, for those of us who are a fan of the more traditional boot, these boots give the feeling of being able to tackle any terrain, and with a tough Vibram sole such as this, you can.
The boots upper is a durable yet recycled abrasion-resistant polyester mesh that has been reinforced at the toe and heel. A GORE-TEX Performance Comfort membrane keeps the boot breathable and waterproof and the Comfort collar which wraps around the top of the boot prevents stones and mud from entering the boot keeping you comfortable on the trail for longer.
The ankle is supported by La Sportiva’s “3D flex joint” which gives the ankle plenty of adaptability on uneven terrain, yet it keeps the foot locked in the footbed so you can be confident of support every step of the trail.
