UOG TOP PICK: Aggressive grip, confident stability, and trail-focused durability make the Nnormal Tomir 2.0 a superb choice for tackling wet, muddy UK terrain with control.
Nnormal says:
Cushioned and built to last, the Tomir 02 offers steady cushioning across any terrain. The shoe for your long, technical trail runs—where stability and protection matter most. A neutral tone for those who move with control, whether on rocky climbs or forest descents.
Our Verdict
The Nnormal Tomir 2.0 has quickly become my go-to trail runner this season thanks to its strong balance of traction, durability, and dependable comfort on rough ground. The aggressive 5mm lug pattern is the defining feature, biting confidently into mud, bog and loose terrain while shedding dirt quickly as conditions change.
Coming from softer trail shoes from brands like Altra, Topo and Hoka, the midsole here feels firmer and more controlled. This creates a more connected feel underfoot, which works well on uneven trails and longer days, though I would still prefer more cushioning for extended time on harder surfaces. At around 280g per shoe, the weight feels competitive for a trail runner with this level of protection and stability.
Grip from the Vibram outsole inspires confidence on wet rock and steep descents, reinforcing its strength as a trail-focused option. I would personally avoid regular road use to help preserve the deep lug profile, as this shoe clearly performs best on natural ground.
