Our Verdict
The Thaw Mitts from Trekmates are a lightweight, highly packable glove that provides a lot of warmth quickly. The mitts are made from a windproof and water-resistant recycled outer shell that protects the PrimaLoft Gold insulation. The soft brushed fleece lining inside the glove adds warmth and comfort. These excellent stand-alone gloves will keep your hands warm and comfortable in frigid conditions; however, they truly shine when incorporated into a layered glove system. They are intentionally oversized to accommodate a liner glove but are low-profile enough to slide under a primary outer shell.
