Terraventure 5 is the moderately cushioned run-to-hike trail option in the in the Topo line designed for use on technical trail. This shoe can be used for trail running and day hikes on technical trail, along with daily wear.
Built on the same 25-22mm midsole and outsole platform as the Terraventure 4, the Terraventure 5
continues to use our Vibram Megagrip outsole delivering excellent traction and slip resistance on technical trail. Now features our FKT insole, made using TPU beads the insole adds rebound underfoot and does not absorb water allowing for faster drainage after a water crossing and features our new universal hook and loop gaiter attachment
system.
New dual mesh upper design provides durability in high abrasion areas, while engineered mesh allows for comfort and breathability over the top of the foot.
Our Verdict
The Terraventure 5 weighs 295g per shoe and sits in a useful middle ground between a trail runner and a lightweight hiking shoe. The wide toe box allows natural foot movement without feeling loose, while the midfoot hold keeps everything secure on uneven terrain. Underfoot, the cushioning leans more into moderate, slightly firm, which helps maintain stability on rocky trails.
The updated insole adds a bit more rebound and handles wet conditions better, draining quickly without holding water. The Vibram outsole provides consistent grip on wet rock and loose surfaces. The upper feels durable, with improved structure around high-wear areas, while remaining breathable. It is a dependable option for technical trails where stability and precise footing matter.
