Our Verdict
The Nordisk Sol 2.0 Ultralight Down Jacket combines ultra-lightweight design with impressive performance. It boasts a waterproof and breathable NorTech 0.5 membrane that defies expectations for down jackets. Weighing only 287g in a medium size, the Sol 2.0 is filled with high-quality 900+ Crystal Down, offering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Its durable yet featherlight outer shell withstands a remarkable 20,000mm of water pressure while maintaining breathability, allowing moisture to escape efficiently.
The jacket includes thoughtful features like an adjustable hood, elastic cuffs, and two front zip pockets. The stitch-through baffle construction keeps the down evenly distributed, though this might slightly limit its warmth in extreme cold, as cold spots are inevitable. Still, the jacket’s unique fabric structure and lightweight insulation make it well-suited for ultralight packers and active adventurers who need a warm, reliable, and weather-resistant layer.
