Touchscreen-friendly material on the thumb and index finger lets you use a phone without taking your gloves off. The stretch fabric on the thumb has been turned fleece side out to function as a nose wipe when you start breaking a sweat. Perfect for cross-country sessions when it’s a bit chilly.
Our Verdict
The Hestra Runners Gloves are well-suited for fast-paced hiking, running or ski touring in cold, breezy conditions. The three-layer stretch fabric blocks wind effectively while remaining breathable enough for higher-output efforts. Fit is excellent, with fingers naturally shaped and a soft inner lining that feels comfortable against the skin. The silicone grip works well on poles, and the touchscreen fingertips respond accurately enough for navigation and taking a photo.
I appreciate the fleece-backed thumb, which doubles as a functional nose wipe. In heavier rain or prolonged exposure, the fabric can begin to dampen, but it still insulates reasonably well when wet. Warmth is moderate, best suited to cool weather rather than sub-zero stops. The construction feels durable, and the cuff design makes them easy to pull on and off, and they work well with a sports/smart watch.
