Our Verdict
This is definitely a minimalist jacket, designed for runners who may be exposed to prolonged periods of bad weather. The 3-layer waterproof fabric is excellent at shedding water and is incredibly breathable, and at 106g (for the medium) this could possibly be the lightest 3-layer waterproof on the market.
It only has one pocket which is tiny and positioned on the arm, good for stashing small items you need close at hand, such as energy gels. Elasticated cuffs ensure a good fit, and the hood stays in place well despite having no adjustable cord.
Definitely an “active fit” I used this in conjunction with a thin base layer and thin fleece (though, I suppose runners would not opt for this setup) and I didn’t feel constricted in a medium-size (I’m 6 foot and slim). A fantastic hardworking jacket, light enough to be stashed in your pack, yet durable enough to offer serious protection.
