Our Verdict
At 377 g (Medium), they utilise a 70-denier, 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric with the newer ePE membrane, which replaces traditional fluorocarbons with a more environmentally responsible expanded polyethene structure. This change maintains the expected GORE-TEX standards of waterproofing and breathability while improving sustainability without noticeable performance loss. The trousers feel tough yet comfortable, with articulated knees and full-length two-way side zips making them practical for layering and boot access.
Breathability is good for their class, though extended uphill effort will eventually generate some heat build-up. The fit is adjustable at the waist, allowing you to “dial in” the fit on the fly with the hook-and-loop adjustments. The fabric softens after a few wears, reducing the initial stiffness commonly found in heavier waterproofs.
These are protective, serious-weather trousers for those who value robustness over minimal weight.
