UOG TOP PICK - MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It’s remarkably similar to the Soto Windmaster, so close it's hard to choose between them. The Pocket Rocket Deluxe's pot stands are easier to use and piezo ignitor feel more robust.

Our Verdict
MSR's PocketRocket Deluxe Gas Stove takes the ever popular Pocket Rocket and adds some useful features for just a 10g weight penalty. The Deluxe comes with a piezo lighting so the stove can be burning away at the touch of the button rather than fumbling around with matches, lighters etc...
The most significant feature is the pressure regulation giving you greater control over your heat output and faster boil times whatever the weather. It's a simple stove that is practically bomb-proof, so you won't have any issues with it.
The Pocket Rocket Deluxe still retains the bombproof simplicity of the PocketRocket stoves. The pot supports provide a wide surface for bigger pans and they still feature those serrated edges that keep your pot in place. Now with a broader flame for better heat distribution. The cross section over the burner head provides some extra protection against the wind, this will stop a sudden gust from blowing the flame out completely and it works well.
We have seen a couple where the piezo igniter has stopped functioning. A rub of the spark contacts and the burner near to them with emery paper or wire wool got it going again perfectly.
The Pocket Rocket Deluxe is an ideal stove for quick water boiling, in a lightweight and affordable package.
