Our Verdict
At just 435g, the Nitron 12 is the lightest in the range but still manages to pack in a surprising amount of function. The vest-style harness hugs the torso closely and doesn’t shift around when scrambling or picking up the pace, while the EVA back panel adds just enough structure for all-day comfort without losing flexibility.
At 12 litres, storage is minimal, but the layout works. I could fit a layer, snacks, and a soft flask without issue, and the harness pocket is ideal for a phone or GPS unit. The panel-loading main compartment gives quick access to kit, and while there’s no large stash pocket like on the larger versions, pole attachments and hydration compatibility are still there—nice to see at this size.
For light and fast missions or as a race-ready mountain pack, it’s hard to fault. You get the same stable, close fit as the larger Nitrons, but in a more agile, no-fuss build.
Ideal for fast-moving days where every gram counts, but you still want function and fit dialled in.
