Our Verdict
This is a high-quality, four-season, two-person mountaineering and expedition tent. The Chigori it’s a really simple, easy-to-erect tent, even in harsh conditions. With a little practice, you will have this tent up in minutes. The inner and outer go up at the same time, so the inner is protected from the weather. It’s a Geodesic design, making it very strong and simple to put up. Lay the tent flat, insert the two crossover poles into their grommets, and then attach the middle support poles. Clip the tent onto the poles, insert the vestibule pole and tension the tent using the guylines. We checked that The whole process could be done by two in less than 5 minutes, though we haven't had it up in a blizzard.
Once the tent is up, you get a huge internal door that takes up almost the entire wall of that side of the tent; it’s a nice quick enter and exit, especially if you are laden with your extreme mountaineering gear.
The tent’s main job is to keep the outside out, yet the tent has good ventilation options to keep the Chigori condensation free. The Chigori has two vents on the roof of the tent that can easily be accessed from inside, a nice touch, especially in harsh conditions.
Inside the tent, the Chigori boasts six large internal pockets, which helps keep the tent clutter-free and more homily. You also have two headlamp pockets for an even spill of light over the tent; if you are confined to the tent due to bad weather, it's a nice environment with room to stretch out and sit up.
