Our Verdict
The MSR Mutha Hubba NX 3-person tent effectively balances lightweight design and interior space. Weighing approximately 2008g, it packs down compactly, fitting seamlessly into a rucksack without occupying excessive space.
The tent's freestanding structure, supported by a unified hub-and-pole system, ensures a swift and straightforward setup. The near-vertical walls and symmetrical floor plan provide ample headroom and elbow space, accommodating three adults. Dual entrances and vestibules enhance accessibility and gear storage, a feature particularly appreciated during multi-day treks.
Ventilation is well-considered, with extensive mesh panels promoting airflow and reducing condensation—a crucial aspect for maintaining comfort in varying climates. The 20-denier ripstop nylon rainfly, treated with Durashield polyurethane and silicone, offers reliable protection against wind and rain while maintaining breathability.
