Mont Moondance Tents feature a lightweight 25,000mm+ WaterBloc™ PU laminated Nylon floor. 25,000mm+ waterhead: that is more than twice the waterhead of any other tent on the market (and ten to twenty times the waterhead of some of them!).
All Mont Tents are sold fully seam-sealed, waterproof and ready for rain straight out of the box. There is no need to seam seal your new Mont tent.
Our Verdict
Mont Adventure Equipment is an Australian company known for making high-performance gear for demanding alpine conditions, with a focus on low weight, precise design, and reliable materials. The Moondance 1 Tent is a clear example of that design philosophy.
This freestanding, mesh-inner tent provides 2.86 m² of internal floor space and two vestibules, offering enough room for two sleeping mats plus gear without feeling cramped. The symmetrical layout and hubbed DAC pole system make setup intuitive, and dual side entries improve access when camped in tight spaces. I love the three-point guy system at each end that stabilises the structure using a single peg per end.
Ventilation is excellent. The mesh upper and internal roof vent support airflow, helping manage condensation even in humid conditions. Build quality is consistently strong, with a 40 D WaterBloc floor rated at 25,000 mm+ waterhead and fully seam-sealed construction that has proven effective in wet weather. Poles pack to 49 cm, and the tent compresses neatly into a 33 × 15 cm sack. For two-person trips, or soloists who like to sprawl, when weight, reliability, and usable space matter, the Moondance 2 performs well.
