Our Verdict
My favourite feature of these over trousers is that they, unusually, have 3 zips along the ¾ length side opening. This means that you can keep the bottom half of your legs zipped up, protected from the rain, while the top of the side zip can be fully opened, allowing you to dump heat quickly, yet still stay dry.
Made from a 3-layer, 30 denier, Pretex waterproof shield and treated with a Fluorocarbon-free DWR these are rugged over trousers that will shrug off year-round mountain weather and are much kinder to the environment than other leading over trousers.
A small cord loop around the bottom hem of the legs means you can cinch the trousers around a book to keep the trousers tight in place in seriously bad weather.
The partially elasticated waistband is lined with silicone, which helps the trousers stay in position, a drawcord also helps get a nice tailored fit.
