The Vango Groundsheet Protector is designed to protect the tent groundsheet from stones, thorns or other items which may cause damage. Shaped to the footprint of each tent in the Vango trekking range, the Groundsheet Protector is an invaluable addition to extend the life of your tent. In addition, the locking clips secure the footprint to each tent ensuring the groundsheet stays perfectly clean.
Our Verdict
Lightweight tents are designed to be used quite successfully without any form of groundsheet and we would only recommend taking one if you expect to be camping on hard, stony ground or you want to actively extend the life of your tent and don't mind the extra weight.
Using a footprint makes your tent floor last a lot longer than not using one. This one is designed for the Vango's F10 Helium UL 1 Footprint. It comes with a separate pouch which gives you the option of leaving it at home and just packing the footprint in with your tent when every gram counts.
