Higher Energy, Lower Weight and Great tasting
Our Verdict
Adventure Nutrition's Extreme Adventure 800 Kcal range is a great range if standard freeze dried meals just don't seem to be enough.
A typical evening meal for me when backpacking is to start with a cup-a-soup & crackers, followed by a freeze dreid main meal and finally a freeze dried dessert. Sometimes I'll have a cereal bar as well with my coffee. That's quite a lot of calories and I find it sufficient, but the main freeze dried meals tend to be around the 5-600 calorie size. If I was to upgrade to these 800 calorie meals I could cut out one of the courses and save weight.
