Our Verdict
The Hyperlite Mountain Gear Elevate 22 Rucksack is a robust, ultralight daypack designed for minimalist adventurers who want essential storage without excess weight. Weighing in at around 507 grams, this 22-litre pack strikes an outstanding balance between durability and functionality for day hikes and multi-sport outings.
Constructed from Dyneema Composite Fabric, the Elevate 22 offers excellent weather resistance and abrasion durability. The roll-top closure provides flexibility in volume, while the two side pockets and a central stretch mesh pocket add easy access to water bottles, snacks, and small essentials. I found the daisy chains on the shoulder straps handy for clipping extra gear, which is a plus for such a pared-down design.
Comfort-wise, the padded back panel and removable hip belt do an excellent job of keeping the load stable and distributing weight comfortably. While it’s a streamlined pack, I’ve found it ideal for ultralight day missions or trail runs where minimal storage suffices. However, the 22-litre capacity might feel restrictive if you need to pack extra gear for variable conditions.
Overall, the Elevate 22 is a versatile and rugged option for ultralight hikers who value simplicity and performance in one compact design.
