Our Verdict
The latest Ducan Shorts from Mammut blend lightweight stretch with targeted reinforcement, and the result feels trail-ready without excess bulk. They're not the absolute lightest at 209g (medium), but they offer reliable durability, especially where abrasion resistance is most needed. The cut is active, with a gusseted crotch and enough give through the thighs to keep movement unrestricted.
The harness-compatible leg pocket is a nice touch, and the front hand pockets are deep and secure with low-profile zip access. I also appreciated the clean waistband finish—it's comfortable under a pack and easy to adjust with a belt.
