The Chair Zero L is a slightly larger model of Helinox's lightest and most compact Helinox chair. It sits slightly higher off the ground and is more expansive. This is carryable, even on backpacking trips.
Helinox says:
Our lightest chair with a little extra capacity.
A pinnacle of Helinox design, the Chair Zero L is exceptionally light and packable, yet delivers unrivaled comfort, strength, and support and built to hold up to 145kg of dynamic load. The advanced materials, architecture, and construction create a precise balance of minimalism and comfort. The proprietary DAC TH72M Aluminum Alloy frame is the heart of its lightweight performance and surprising strength, and its disciplined design sheds all unnecessary elements to reduce weight and bulk. The result is a chair that packs to the size of a water-bottle, making it the choice for backpacking, multiday paddle trips, extended bike tours, and moto-touring – activities where shaving weight and minimizing volume are critical.
Our Verdict
The supportive Chair Zero L chair is only 639 grams. On a long hike, a chair supporting your back is a real luxury and worth carrying. It also packs down tiny and is incredibly easy to set up.
Chair poles are made from DAC aluminium, best known for their use in some of the most robust tents in the world, including Hilleberg. The chair material is made from very breathable, durable polyester.
If you found the Helinox Chair One too low or the Chair Zero too narrow, this may be the chair for you.
