Our Verdict
The Chair One (re) keeps the lightweight, collapsible DNA of the original but adds clever tweaks that make a noticeable difference. I appreciated the slightly taller seat—it’s now easier to get in and out of, especially at the end of a long day. The new tension system feels more supportive, distributing weight more evenly across the frame. Using recycled aluminium and fabric is a welcome bonus, and the build quality is as solid as I’d expect from Helinox. I did find the feet prone to sinking in soft ground, so pairing it with a groundsheet or rubber feet makes sense.
