Our Verdict
MSR's Ceramic 2 Pot Set features both the 1.3L and 2.5L pot, a lid that fits both of the pots with some clever shaping and a single Talon handle. You can quite easily fit a gas canister and a pocket rocket or pocket rocket deluxe inside the set so you have everything all in one place.
With only having one handle included in the set you are obviously limited to one pan at a time. But even when cooking one pot after the other, getting the talon handle off of a hot pan can be fiddly job that could end with burnt finger tips. Using the set does give you the flexibility of doing a fast boil of some water with the smaller solo pot, or a full-on meal with the larger 2.5L pot.
In use the Talon handle is super solid and locks in with a satisfying ‘click’ and the ceramic coating does it’s job of providing a degree of non-stick that seems more durable than most in the wild cooking world. You do still need to be careful when looking after the ceramic coating so as to not scratch it, so I put a cloth or bit of kitchen towel between each pot and then between the inner pot and the gas canister and stove I’ll be taking with me.
