VAGA Feather Racing Cap Review - ''Incredibly light and well fitting, the material is soft to the touch but nice and stretchy.''

Having relatively recently got into ultra running my experience of running caps was usually whatever hat came to hand when leaving the house, so upgrading to a Vaga Feather Racing cap was a bit of a revelation. Incredibly light and well fitting, the material is soft to the touch but nice and stretchy. Whether it is scrunched up in your running pack or nestled on your head, it doesn’t seem to lose its shape.

The material is also highly breathable and doesn’t hold the moisture too much. The brim isn’t very rigid but can be flipped up to offer better vision when going up hill. At the rear there is an adjustable strap to ensure it fits well. The material also has small holes that mean you don’t overheat and helps to keep your head cool.

With summer finally feeling like it’s here, I got the chance to run some trails along parts of the John Muir Way near Loch Lomond in some lovely sunshine. Despite me forgetting my sunglasses, I headed out anyway and the hat performed great, and was super comfortable to wear. It managed the moisture well and gave enough shade when needed. It breathed very well, and being so light didn’t feel like a burden or a weight on the head.

I look forward to being able to use the hat on further runs and as the summer weather improves I am sure it will become my go to running hat.
