Montane’s Cetus Petrichor Jacket is a lightweight, high-performance waterproof designed for fast-moving days in the mountains. Weighing around 398g in a men's medium or 370g in a women's UK12, it balances weather protection with excellent breathability, making it a solid choice for hillwalkers and those tackling changeable conditions.
The jacket is built with Montane’s PETRICHOR 3-layer technology and boasts a 20,000mm hydrostatic head for waterproofing while maintaining an impressive breathability rating (<5 RET). The recycled nylon ripstop fabric is soft and flexible, avoiding the stiff, crinkly feel of some hardshells, while offset seams and a tailored fit allow for unrestricted movement.
The fully adjustable hood offers excellent coverage with a laminated peak for extra structure, ensuring clear visibility. YKK AquaGuard zips, hand pockets, and internal chest pocket provide reliable water resistance, while the laminated hem and cuffs add durability without unnecessary bulk.
Some may miss pit zips for added ventilation, but the fabric’s breathability handles moisture well, even during high-output activities. The jacket also packs down small, making it easy to stow in a rucksack when not in use.

How does Petrichor Technology work?
Unlike traditional waterproof technology, PETRICHOR’s hydrophilic membrane actively breathes to physically transport moisture away from damp layers and skin, and out into the air. This technology excels even when your baselayer is slightly wet, the air is cold and damp, and you need to move fast through the mountains.

The winner will win either a Men’s or Women’s Montane Cetus Petrichor Jacket in the size and colour of their choosing (subject to availability). No substitute prizes can be offered.
The competition starts on 3rd March 2025 and ends on 31st March 2025. All entrants between these times/dates will be entered into the draw. The winner will be drawn on 1st April 2025, and the winner will be notified via email. If you don't get an email from us, unfortunately, you have not been successful on this occasion.
Every correct entry submitted between the competition dates/times will have their email address entered into the draw. The draw will be made using a random number generator and will be completely fair, each email address will have the same chance to win as any other. Only one entry per person will be accepted. No dialogue will be entered about the administration of the competition/draw.
