A lightweight yet durable pack that balances simplicity with functionality, the Liteway Biggie Pack 45L is perfect for long-distance hikers looking for a customisable and spacious setup without the bulk.
Liteway says:
BIGGIE PACK 45L - is an ultra-lightweight frameless backpack for long distance hikes and autonomous travels.
The backpack has a simple design which can be increased to a volume of 45 litres. The main body compartment has a rolltop design, made for quick access and easy volume adjustment.
The BIGGIE PACK 45L has removable straps at the side of the rolltop, with a central strap and load-lifters straps. So the fit of the pack can be customised just for you.
The backpack has a frameless design. For the forming the frame of the BIGGIE PACK, we recommend using a sleeping mat, putting it along the back of the backpack.
In contrast to the ELEMENTUM PACK, the BIGGIE PACK hasn’t got a front compartment made of elastic material, but it has a large front pocket made of X-Pac fabric.
There are some holes for water drainage in the bottom part of the Pack.
The lacing system of the front pocket can be used for drying clothes and gear or for additional fastening of equipment on the trail.
The backpack has 7 pockets: a central large front pocket, two voluminous pockets on the backpack belt, two side pockets and two updated pockets on the straps.
New mesh pockets on the shoulders straps: increased volume, now the pocket is fixed with a tightening system, and the pocket can also be closed/opened with one hand.
The backpack has a removable load-lifters system on the shoulder straps and in the upper part of the backpack.
Lacing is provided for attaching additional gear on the sides and in the lower part of the backpack.
The weight of the backpack is approximately 600-680g, and 500-580g without removable straps, shock-cords and cords.
Main: buckles and webbing straps are 15 mm, unlike the Biggie Pack 65L where the straps are 20 mm.
Our Verdict
The Liteway Biggie Pack 45L is an ultra-lightweight frameless backpack designed for long-distance hikes and multiday adventures. Weighing around 652g, it’s one of the lightest packs in its class, yet it still offers a total 45-litre capacity, which can be adjusted with its roll-top design. The simplicity of this pack is a key feature, but don’t let that fool you—it’s packed with thoughtful details like seven pockets for organising your gear, water drainage holes, and removable straps for customising the fit.
The frameless design allows you to use a sleeping mat as back support. Internal straps help secure the mat in place, but there are also external loops on the pack for attaching a pad, which I’d prefer. Placing the mat externally, especially a textured sit pad, would provide extra ventilation while hiking, helping to keep your back cooler.
The durable X-Pac fabric on the large front pocket is great for stashing wet weather gear, and the lacing system keeps everything snug. The shoulder and hip belt pockets are also handy, offering easy access to essentials on the move. I particularly liked the mesh pockets on the shoulder straps, which are spacious enough for my phone or a water bottle and can be tightened for added security.
One improvement I would make is that the compression straps on the side of the pack are elasticated, and I prefer the straps not to have any give, but this is a straightforward alteration.
Though the seams aren’t sealed, the pack isn’t fully waterproof. However, the fabric is highly weather-resistant, meaning the fabric won't take on water becoming heavier.
The lightweight construction, functionality, and customisable features make this pack ideal for ultralight hikers. I might have found a new favourite backpack for multiday trips.

Material & Construction
The backpack can be built from:
- X-Pac backpack laminate. X-Pac is a highly durable laminated fabric composed of several layers of Nylon, Polyester and PET film. This material is designed for abrasion resistance with the lowest possible weight. It is flexible, lightweight, thin and waterproof.
- Ecopak™ EPX200 - 100% recycled polyester components, C0 DWR (no fluorocarbons), 70d Ripstop backing. Compared to traditional pack fabric with 50d plain weave backing, the 70d Ripstop has better stitch holding and superior strength.
- UltraGrid™ is recycled nylon grid fabric with Ultra™ ripstop. Woven with 210d recycled nylon yarn from pre-consumer industrial waste. Exceptional tear-strength and visual impact. Has a non-toxic C0 DWR coating, free from toxic PFCs and finished with a waterproof 1500mm PU backing.
The main material (fabric) of the backpack is 100% waterproof, but please, pay note that the seams of the backpack are not sealed. This means that the backpack is not waterproof.
