The G.O.A.T. combines rugged materials with pared-back design. It is a simple but seriously useful tote, ideal for hauling kit from town to trail.
Hyperlite Mountain Gear says:
Waxing poetic about something as simple and straightforward as a tote bag would be a stretch. So, we won’t. We will point out, however, that for basic bags, ours take the concept to the next level by using the same 100% waterproof 150D Dyneema® Composite Hybrid materials found throughout our pack and shelter line, they’re built with the same high-tech and minimalist philosophy we apply to everything we make, and their weight is nearly imperceptible. You’ll know what they’re perfect for as soon as you use them.
Our Verdict
The Hyperlite Mountain Gear 70L G.O.A.T. Tote has quickly become my go-to for those in-between moments—lugging gear to the car, or moving kit around camp. At 316g, it’s surprisingly tough for its weight, with the Dyneema fabric shrugging off scuffs and keeping contents dry even in wet weather. I liked the freestanding structure, which makes it easy to pack, and the internal zip pocket is just right for keeping keys and wallet out of the jumble. I’d have appreciated a top closure for extra security, but it fits the bill beautifully for a simple carry-all that doesn’t overcomplicate things.
