Our Verdict
The Montane Sirocco Insulated Hoodie uses a mix of synthetic insulation through the torso and stretch fleece along the sides and arms, giving a precise fit that moves easily on steep ground. At 341g (UK12), it feels light but substantial enough for exposed ridges and cool starts.
The insulated core holds warmth well while the fleece panels vent heat effectively during steady climbs. Wind resistance across the chest is strong for its category, and it layers cleanly beneath a shell when conditions worsen. The fit is close and athletic, keeping bulk to a minimum, and the soft inner fabric remains comfortable against the skin. Construction quality is high, with tidy seams and a reliable full-length zip. A practical, high-performance midlayer for those who prioritise breathability and unrestricted movement in cool, active conditions.
