Our Verdict
Hoka's Womens Kaha 2 GTX is designed to provide maximum cushioning, support and comfort. With an impressively plush 24mm stack in the forefoot and 30mm heel this boot is ideal for long distance walking and multiday treks. There is an amazing amount of cushioning and levels of comfort and that is backed up with the additional ankle support from this high boot design. As with much of the Hoka range, the style and in particular the look of the sole is not going to be to everyone's taste but the support you get from them, especially for long days and multiday trips is certainly worthwhile in our experience.
In this boot there is a quality Gore-Tex waterproof lining that will keep your feet dry through a range of conditions, whether that it the terrain or the weather itself. This is probably the most weatherproof boot in our range from Hoka due to the full leather upper and high ankle coverage. They also use the Vibram Megagrip which provides a really good amount of grip on varied terrain in the wet and dry. The sole has multidirectional lugs for gaining traction when you need it most and it gives a bit of extra stability. There is variation in the foam used in the sole to provide a balance of cushioning and responsiveness.
