Making use of the lightest possible double weave soft shell fabric this windproof shell is a super breathable essential on alpine rock routes and fast moving enchainments. A close fitting hood accommodates a helmet when required and a single chest pocket stores the essentials whilst doubling as a stuff sack as the temperature rises.
Our Verdict
Mountain Equipment describe the Aerofoil Jacket as using softshell fabric, we'd describe it more as a superlight windshell. This full zip version makes it more versatile and easier to get on and off. The ability to open up the full zip increases breathability massively when you're heating up on big ascents.
It has a lot more features than your average windshell, with the volume adjuster on the hood which is simple but effective, the excellent quality and fairly rugged zips and the chest pocket. The pocket is big enough for smaller phones, your keys and some energy gels - perfect for a quick blast around the fells.
