The Hyperlite Mountain Gear Unbound 55 Rucksack is an excellent choice for ultralight backpackers and thru-hikers who need extra capacity while prioritising comfort, durability, and well-thought-out features. Weighing 876g (medium), this 55L pack is ideal for long-distance hikes.
The Unbound 55 features a dual-entry front pocket, perfect for stowing frequently needed items like rain gear or snacks, and a bottom stash pocket, which is fantastic for smaller items, snacks, or rubbish, keeping everything organised and easy to reach. The side pockets are generously sized for water bottles or other gear, and the Dyneema Stretch Mesh on the front and bottom ensures durability while allowing flexibility for different-sized loads.
The single aluminium stay frame transfers weight effectively to the padded hip belt, offering excellent stability. The foam-padded back panel works with the frame to provide comfort over long distances, while the updated removable hip belt offers customisation options.
