Protective footprint designed to be used with Six Moon Designs tents, can also be usedwith any tent that fit the dimensions.
Six Moon Designs says
Six Moon Design's Tyvek footprint is made from hard surface Tyvek. This ground cloth is extremely durable and will protect your shelter floor from sticks and rocks. With proper care, one Tyvek Footprint will last for a multi-month and multi-thousand mile hike.
Notes: For a softer feel, prewash your Tyvek in a washing machine. It will make the material softer and easier to fold.
Our Verdict
Modern lightweight tents are designed to be used quite successfully without a footprint and we would only recommend taking one if you expect to be camping on quite stony ground or you want to actively extend the life of your tent and don't mind the extra weight.
Tyvek is an interesting fabric, it is very lightweight, feels and looks like paper but is really strong and very highly waterproof.
Using a footprint makes your tent floor last a lot longer than not using one. This one is designed for the Six Moon Design Tents but if the dimensions are right for you it can be used with other tents and tarps.
