The Silva Trekking Poles Aluminium Z-Fold come in at 294g per pole, putting them at the sturdier end of the scale, but they make up for that in durability and comfort. The cork and foam grips are comfortable even after long days. The flick-lock adjustment feels reliable, and the 37 cm folded length means they stow easily inside or outside a pack.
I appreciated the included accessories—snow baskets and rubber tips—for adapting to mixed terrain, and the carbide tips gave good bite on rock. These aren’t the lightest poles out there, but for the price and build quality, they feel like a well-judged compromise between performance and packability.
