A true all-rounder, the Hoka Speedgoat 6 is built for runners and hikers who need a shoe that performs seamlessly on roads, trails, and technical terrain.

A workhorse for technical terrain, this recent reissue was refined with a breathable woven textile upper, foot-hugging internal chassis, plusher dual gusset tongue, and revised lug orientation inspired by the hoof of a goat (what else?)
Our Verdict
The Hoka Speedgoat 6 refines everything great about its predecessor, making it a versatile choice for both trail runners and hikers. It easily handles various surfaces, from roads and hard-packed trails to more technical off-road terrain.
The updated CMEVA foam midsole feels lighter and more responsive, offering durable and comfortable cushioning without feeling overly soft. The newly designed woven upper provides a snug, breathable fit that adds durability and support. Paired with the Vibram Megagrip outsole and improved lug pattern, the Speedgoat 6 delivers excellent traction on rocky paths, loose gravel, and wet surfaces, though it’s not as strong in deep mud.
Weighing just 283g (men’s UK size 8), it’s lighter than the Speedgoat 5 and generally fits true to size. However, if you have wider feet or plan to take on ultra-long runs with lots of descents, sizing up could be a good idea to allow extra room in the toe box.
