RAB's Shadow Neck Shield uses two key fabrics from Polartec, the face fabric offers a higher protection from wind, the rest is warm and breathable.

Our Verdict
Rab's Shadow Neck Shield is made principally from Polartec Power Stretch fabric, which is a soft, very stretchy material with a warm inner fleece face to it. The sculptured section which sits over the face is made from Polartec Windpro, which is not quite as soft, but has a high wind resistance - this is where you need it as its the area open to the elements when wearing a hood.
The lower hem is lightly elasticated and the upper hem has the benefit of a cordlocked drawcord.
