Our Verdict
Mammut's Sertig II Mid GTX, is a lightweight option for those who are looking to tackle mixed terrain on less steep adventures and are looking for all day comfort and also protection from the elements.
The materials used in the construction of the Sertig II Mid create a very lightweight and comfortable feeling boot on the foot. The upper is constructed using a mesh that makes very breathable so is idea for even warmer conditions and allows greater airflow preventing moisture build up inside of the boot which can sometimes be an issue with a boots that features a Gore-Tex membrane.
The fit of the boots is more on the regular to narrow fit so is ideal for most users and there is a good level of support in the heel cup preventing excess foot movement that can lead to friction. The use of the softer upper materials also means there is a good level of flex and there is no stiffness around the foot.
The Mammut Secure-grip outsole is on the softer end of the compound range but this means that it provides a high level of traction on mixed terrain. the combination of the softer outsole and the EVA midsole mean that they feel very comfortable under foot, however they are not going to be for those looking to tackle the steepest ground and require more support.
The Sertig II Mid is a perfect boot for those weekend walkers or those wanting a boot for a spring or summer walking holiday, and want all day comfort and protection on long costal trails or through the Dales and Peaks
