Our Verdict
The Hestra Seam Sealed Shell Mitts provide dependable protection from wind and rain, made from a three-layer polyamide stretch fabric with fully taped seams. They deliver strong waterproofing without compromising breathability. The fabric feels robust yet supple, and the long cuff with snowlock offers good coverage.
The fit is purposely oversized to accommodate bulky insulated gloves or mitts beneath, making them ideal as an outer layer for winter walking, ski touring, or long days on exposed ridgelines. Despite their roomy cut, the wrist elastic and handcuffs keep them secure and easy to adjust, while the palm’s grip print helps with poles or kit handling in wet weather.
At 115g (Medium), they are light enough to carry as part of a modular glove system. Build quality feels excellent, with precise seam work and a clean, minimalist design.
