A toasty warm balaclava for use on the ski slopes and for harsh winter mountaineering.
Haglofs says:
With the right gear you can expand your limits. This balaclava is for those bluebird days of skiing that you never want to end. It’s made from a soft knit fabric that keeps your face and neck warm and insulated, so you can enjoy many, many satisfying hours on the mountain.
Our Verdict
This versatile balaclava can be worn as a neck tube in milder conditions, but it excels when entering the true cold. It's made from soft polyester. The knit of the Ripper Balaclava is similar to a mid-layer style grid-backed fleece. This minimises contact with the skin, creating tiny air pockets of warmth whilst facilitating good breathability. This results in a warm layer that helps retain heat and moves moister away from the skin, similar to how a baselayer works.
