Firepot's Posh Pork and Beans provides a great combo of protein, carbs, calories and flavour.
A hearty British breakfast of potato and pork baked with three types of beans in a tomato sauce.
Firepot says
We wanted our breakfast to be worth getting up for — delicious low-fat British pork mince, three kinds of beans and crisp potatoes, all in a dark and sticky tomato sauce. With the heat of tabasco and a zing of fresh ginger, this is our twist on the classic Full English. This is a hearty and warming breakfast for the days when only a taste of home will do. Children also love it, making this a firm family favourite in FIREPOT's Dorset kitchen.
Our Verdict
FIREPOT use high-quality natural ingredients and slow cook them in small batches. There is no freeze-drying involved, no preservatives, and no ingredients you won't recognise. And not only does their food taste good, but it’s exactly what you need to fuel any adventure. Nutritious, delicious and simple to make.
Firepot's Posh Pork and Beans - An excellent savoury breakfast option - We've singled out Firepot's Posh Pork and Beans as one of our top recommendations because it is rare that you can get a breakfast that is either reconstituted eggs or overly sweet versions of cereal/porridge. This dish provides a great combo of protein, carbs, calories and flavour.
At first glance the Posh Pork and Beans looked a little watery - though adding less water may solve that. Flavour wise it was a little bland but you do get a sweet after taste from the spiced bbq flavour. We noticed the beans were a little on the crunchy side, but after leaving them for a little while longer than stated they became softer. An Optimus Pot Cozy would help resolve this. An overall nice breakfast with a generous portion size.

STAFF'S TASTE TEST - 755kcals per pack so this is a substantial breakfast. Takes quite a bit of water 350mls and quite a long time to rehydrate, 15 minutes. Tasted really nice, among other things is has garlic, tobasco, ginger and mustard powder in so it has a bit of spice to the taste. By far most of the beans rehydrated well although there were a few that hadn't, you could still eat them though, just a bit crunchy. Very filling. |
