One of the most popular Expedition Foods meals, you'll be hard pressed to find a better porridge. Just add hot water, stir and wait five minutes. Enjoy anywhere in the world.
Preparation: REMOVE THE OXYGEN ABSORBER* (sachet) from inside the pouch. Slowly add up to 600ml hot water, stirring as you pour and then close the bag. Wait 5-8 minutes for the food to rehydrate.
Cold water will suffice in an emergency, however the re-hydration time is much longer.
*The oxygen absorber helps maintain product freshness and is non toxic. Do not eat.

STAFF'S TASTE TEST - This is a 1000 calorie meal, I carried 2 packets with me as an emergency food for when I think I'm not eating enough and need to add some bulk calories. The packet says to make up with 600ml – but seemed a lot of water when I was adding it so I re-read the packet and it actually says UPTO 600ml water. So I stopped, I had added about 500ml – which was plenty – it was still quite runny. Gave it a good stir and let stand for 8min+ - absolutely lovely – great taste, all the strawberry bits float to the top so you end up eating them first, which is great but later there's none left. I had this mid afternoon but also had my usual meal the same evening. It did the trick, I felt much stronger the next day. As regards to a review I would say 9/10 for taste - but don't put all the water in, also I couldn't eat it all, I ate about 85% of it, so 850 calories for me. |
