Our Verdict
Storm’s One Wash Eco Proofer revitalises water repellency through a single wash cycle and leaves a smooth finish on technical outerwear. The 75 ml dose treats one or two garments, coating fibres evenly without any leftover residue. When heat-activated, it creates a durable, abrasion-resistant barrier that performs well under typical hill or trail use.
Regularly washing and reproofing technical clothing maintains breathability, prolongs fabric life, and reduces waste by keeping gear performing as intended for longer. The formula is PFC-, PFAS-, and PFOA-free, maintaining Storm’s focus on low-impact chemistry. I found it works really well, provided the garments were cleaned correctly beforehand. It’s a straightforward, sustainable way to keep waterproofs shedding rain as they should.

Help & advice:
Instructions -
- Add one or two garments depending on size into the washing machine. Avoid overfilling your drum, technical garments need to move freely to make the most of both mechanical and chemical cleaning.
- Pour 75ml of Storm proofer into the conditioning compartment. (We always recommend washing at the same time using Storm Apparel Wash in preparation of re-proofing).
- Set your machine to a 30 degree synthetic low spin cycle or a technical sport garment setting if available. It's important to avoid using any household detergent during this process.
- When complete, hang to drip dry for at least 20 minutes.
- Follow garment care instructions for drying. Heat by tumble drying or iron with a clean damp cloth between the garment and iron to activate the durable water repellent treatment.
