Our Verdict
The Ohm 20f is a standout bit of kit, almost a hybrid between a sleeping bag and a quilt, it offers serious protection in colder conditions ( I’ve had it out in sub 0, but wouldn’t want to push it much past that), and fantastic heat regulation in the warmer months, meaning this bag is my go-to in all but the depth of winter.Incredibly light thanks to the 900 Fill Goose down, pretty much the highest quality of down Thermarest offers, this packs down to almost nothing, meaning you can really save on space by potentially bringing a smaller rucksack, which again could save you weight.
Its definitely not as luxurious as some of its counterparts, no hood, primarily to save weight and a rather narrow foot box make this a minimalist bag. A drawstring around the opening can be a little difficult to use when in the bag, but once adjusted heat loss is negligible. The lack of a hood could put some off, but I have found it rather freeing, on very cold nights its definitely advisable to have a warm beanie close to hand. Yet on warmer nights I definitely don’t miss it, and also find I don’t wake as often to find I’ve shifted the hood right round due to nocturnal gymnastics. I’m 6 foot and I find this bag still has some wiggle room for me and don’t find it constricting despite the narrow foot box, and i find this bag is as good for side sleepers as for those who sleep on their back or front.
The full-length zip means it can be opened out into a blanket if that suits your sleeping style, however, I prefer to zip it almost all the way but not quite, effectively giving myself a toe box similar to that which you find in some quilt designs. So all in all, from when the first buds appear, till the last leaf falls from the tree, this is the bag for me.
