The Mirra range of tents are simple, stripped-back, lightweight tents that pitch fast and intuitively. Perfect for low-level wild camps and campsite hopping.
Exped says:
The new Mira HL offers the perfect combination of space, comfort and weight. With the new clips, however, it can be set up even faster and more intuitively. Unchanged are the generous headroom and the two practical entrances and vestibules. The tonal green canopy blends in perfectly with nature. As a super light, airy and above all mosquito-free accommodation, the Mira HL can be pitched anywhere as a self-standing mosquito net. Because they are built with ultra-lightweight fabrics, we recommend the use of a footprint for floor protection.
Our Verdict
A tent that balances comfort and space while keeping the weight as low as possible. The tent is incredibly simple and intuitive to pitch; lightweight clips attach the tent pole to the tent's inner, and colour-coded clips simplify the fly attachment. The DAC tent pole is a Y-shaped wishbone-style tent; this saves on weight but means the tent can suffer in high winds, this isn't a summiting tent, but it's a fantastic tent for low-level camps and campsite hopping.
The Mira III HL can fit three people and gear, especially if you take advantage of the vestibule, but it can feel a little snug. If you and your tent partners both use wide sleeping pads, you may need to look at another tent; however, if you use this tent duo, it’s a palace with plenty of room to sprawl.
Features have been kept to a minimum to keep the weight as low as possible. Still, you get a little internal storage at the head end and an included washing line suitable for drying gear or attaching a headlight as an overhead lantern.
If you are confident, you are in for a dry night; you can roll away one end of the fly sheet, opening up the tent and improving the tent's ventilation considerably, brilliant for star gazing or on hot and humid nights.
