Our Verdict
The Nemo Mayfly OSMO 2P is an impressive new offering for backpackers seeking a lightweight yet durable double-wall tent. The standout feature is Nemo's proprietary OSMO fabric, which is made from 100% recycled polyester/nylon yarns. This composite material repels water 4x longer than standard tent fabrics while stretching 3x less when wet. The OSMO fly is also treated with a PFAS-free DWR coating.
In addition to its highly weather-resistant rainfly, the Mayfly OSMO 2P packs other premium construction details. The rugged 68D PU-coated ripstop polyester floor can handle lots of rough use. Interior space is generous for two, but sadly not big enough to accommodate two wide pads near vertical walls, and a 39" peak height makes this a roomie livable tent.
Unique pole geometry and corner anchor hardware allow for taut pitching. Well-designed features like the Divvy Cube stuff sack, which compresses to split tent weight between partners, showcase Nemo's experience in creating technical camping gear. While not a minimalist ultralight, the Mayfly OSMO's performance-oriented materials and superb build quality make it an excellent pick for committed backpackers.
