Our Verdict
The Mammut Runbold Hat strikes a smart balance between coverage and comfort. The stretch fabric gives it a close, unobtrusive fit. It’s quick to dry after a downpour or rinse, and it packs down flat without losing its shape. The wide brim offers reliable sun protection, and the removable drawcord is a useful touch for windy summits or open ridgelines. At around 81g (size M), it’s not ultralight, but it wears light and doesn’t feel bulky, even under a hood.
