Leki's Makalu Series Trekking Poles are the workhorse of the LEKI Trekking and Mountaineering ranges, this particular pair are the lightest in the series and use LEKI's dependable Lever Locks.

Our Verdict
Leki's Makalu Series Trekking Poles are the workhorse of the LEKI Trekking and Mountaineering ranges, this particular pair are the lightest in the series because they use slightly narrower tubing, however you shouldn't be worried that these may not be strong enough, they absolutely are for the vast majority of trekkers, heavier people may want to choose the standard poles.
We especially like the rubberised top of the handle because that's where the palm of your hand goes when you are descending, it feels really positive.
Because they are telescopic the packed length is 67cm, which is not as convenient as the shorter packed size models but the locking mechanisms are more robust.
