Our Verdict
Light, warm and made to move, this is a focused layer for those who want just enough insulation without excess bulk. The Haglöfs LIM Barrier Insulated Vest delivers impressive core warmth in a very stripped-back package. At 175g (Medium), it uses PrimaLoft Aerogel insulation, which performs well even in cold, damp conditions, and feels warm the moment you put it on. The wind-resistant outer helps retain heat, while the elasticated armholes and hem keep things snug without restricting movement. There are no hand pockets, but the slim fit and low bulk make it ideal for wearing under a shell or over a light base layer. It's a good “year-round” piece for ultralight layering, or stashing as an emergency warm layer.
