Our Verdict
The Kinetic Mountain Gloves are lightweight warming gloves constructed with a “3-layer warp knit construction, " giving them the appearance and feel of a compressed wollen glove. They look fantastic and wouldn't look out of place in the pub in your daily life.
They add reasonable warmth, making them fantastic for lower lever and hill walking. They will repel rain, sleet and snow; however, if I were heading off into the mountains, I would consider them more water-resistant, not necessarily waterproof. I would pair them with a waterproof shell-style glove over the top.
A silicone print runs from the fingers to the cuff of the palm, improving grip. The touchscreen capability is acceptable and accurate enough to navigate and take photos. The gloves are a little stiff due to the aforementioned "3-layer warp knit. "The stiffness may lessen with extended use, but this and the straight-cut fingers (as opposed to pre-curved) caused my hands to become fatigued after extended use; this may fade with time, but it is worth noting.
