Montbell deliver once again with a top of the range down piece, utilising the warmth of 1000 fill power down, while keeping the whole jacket to a miniscule 286g.

Our Verdict
Montbell's Ignis Down Parka is a weatherproof furnace. The 60g of 1000 fill power down has been distributed so that this jacket feels warmer than jackets 4x the weight of it.
The added durability and windstopping properties of Gore-Tex Infinium only add to this jacket's warmth, providing you with a safehaven from the cold and rain. A prefect layering piece for the cold, wet, wintry conditions here in the UK.
The waterproof zippered chest pocket, fleece lined hand pockets and two large inner pockets add to the usability of this jacket for day to day wear.
The price tag for this jacket does seem a little steep, but once you've experienced the warmth of this jacket for how little it weighs and how small it packs down, you'll question why you ever bought other down jackets.
