Mountain Equipment says
Stretchy, tough Soft Shell shorts for adventurous trekking and scrambling on warmer days in the mountains. Exolite 210 stretch double weave fabric gives robust, comfortable performance and dries fast after a summer downpour. Four zipped pockets secure the essentials whether on the trail or travelling through mountain towns and an integrated belt sits comfortably under a pack.
Our Verdict
Mountain Equipment's Ibex Mountain Shorts build on the success of the classic Ibex pants. Using the same, super durable EXOLITE non-membrane soft shell fabric means they are extremely breathable and engineered to repel wind and rain. The hardwearing fabric has a decent amount of stretch allowing plenty of freedom of movement, making the ideal for hikes and scrambles, with all the comfort needed for long days in the hills.
Features wise you get an integrated belt for the perfect fit, a microfleece waistband for comfort and plenty of storage space with 4 zipped pockets. These shorts are not the lightest or most breathable but if you need hardwearing pants that can withstand anything you throw at them then the Ibex are a perfect option.
