The Black Diamond Hybrid Light Gloves are a practical, lightweight option for cold, damp conditions, offering reliable weather resistance and dexterity. Made from a 3-layer stretch softshell with a DWR finish, they’re designed to handle light rain and wind without adding bulk. With a fleece backer for comfort, they’re suited for temperatures ranging from -9 to 0ºC, though these are brand-suggested limits; I’d recommend adding an insulating glove if temperatures approach the lower end.
The gloves feature touchscreen-compatible thumb and index fingertips, allowing you to use devices without exposure to the cold. The wristwatch opening is a nice touch that I appreciate, as I often use my watch for navigation. The mapped silicone texture on the palm enhances grip, which is hand when using poles or ice axes.
